Drop by anytime during the month of July and Buy a Bean for $1.00 at any of the three Winnipeg Chamois locations. Your brightly colored bean will be prominently displayed in the outlet's customer aea. The Kidney Foundation of Canada's Manitoba Branch and the Chamois have joined forces for the seventh year to raise funds to support Manitobans living with kidney disease. This campaign has raised more than $21,000 since its inception. All three of the Chamois locations are participating: 85 Reenders Drive 850 Waverley St. 1285 St. James St. Drop by today!

Friends, volunteers and corporate supporters attended the First BBQ of 2010 on May 17th at the Winnipeg office. Gorgeous weather, incredible food prepared by a renowned chef and entertainment made the event one to remember. Special guests were thanked for their support throughout the past year and honoured with award presentations. Wendy's Winnipeg restaurants reached new heights in March with their annual "Great Chili Promotion". The five Winnpeg restaurants have been working together under the leadership of owner Tim MacLeod for the past eight years working The Kidney Foundation of Canada--Manitoba Branch to raise funds. This year's contribution of over $22,000 raised the campaign proceeds to over $100,000. Congratulations Wendy's ownership, management and staff! HARP-Home Appliance Retirement Program

The Manitoba Branch of The Kidney Foundation of Canada was the first in Canada to launch a Home Appliance Retirement program. Since launching the program in 2008, Manitobans have embraced the opportunity to partner with The Foundation. If you have recently purchased new appliances and need to have your old appliances removed--Call us for FREE pick-up at 257-1212. WE TAKE: furnaces, hot water tanks, and major appliances (stoves, fridges, washers, dryers, dishwashers) bathtubs (steel only, not fibreglass), eavestroughing WE ALSO TAKE: Lawnmowers, snowblowers, bikes, BBQs, metal sinks, aluminum lawn chairs and any other metal items (ONLY IF ACCOMPANIED BY A MAJOR APPLIANCE) WE DO NOT TAKE: Air conditioners, electronics (TVs, microwaves, computers, VCRs, CD/DVD players) and propane tanks Donations are not refurbished or resold, but are scrapped and sold as scrap metal. Proceeds are donated to The Kidney Foundation of Canada.

Maylene Ludwig, Volunteer with the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba was pleased to present The Kidney Foundation's Manitoba Branch Executive Director Val Dunphy with a cheque for over $2700 last month. This donation represented the wishes of four seperate donors who have selected The Kidney Foundation of Canada as a charity they would like to annually support. Special thanks to the Marion Bookbinder Memorial Fund, Susan Rogers Fund, Berdie & Irvin Cohen Memorial Fund and in memory of Maier & Antzi Silverberg. The Jewish Foundation of Manitoba is here for our community--today, tomorrow, forever. Executive Director Marsha Cowan congratulated The Kidney Foundation of Canada Manitoba Branch on the important work being done in our community.
